What is Chantilly cream? Well, it’s simply sweetened whipped cream! It seams simple enough but there are a few tricks to make the perfect homemade whipped cream! But I am going to tells you all the trick so you will never buy whipped cream again!
Ingredients you will need to make Chantilly
As I said, Chantilly is a sweetened whipped cream so you guess it, the ingredients are:
- Whipping cream
- Sugar
Now, you can add some flavour to it! The possibilities are endless but I will advice you to keep it simple but it’s only my opinion!
Here are a few examples:
- The classic for Chantilly Cream: vanilla! Add some vanilla extract!
- Lemon: add the zest and juice of a lemon.
- Berries: add a few spoons of berry coulis.
- Chocolate: add a cooled down melted chocolate.

Tricks to make the perfect Whipped Cream every time!
There are a few tricks you need to know in order to make the perfect whipped cream, and here there are!
- The most important one is that everything has to be really cold!
- Place the whipping cream in the freezer half an hour before whipping it.
- Place the bowl and the whisk in the freezer as well!
- My secret, run water outside the bowl and on the whisk before placing it in the freezer. The water around the bowl will freeze and will keep your cream cold while you whip it!
- Add the cream and sugar in the bowl and whip at high speed.
- Place a tea towel on top of your mixer at the beginning because it will splash everywhere!
- Add the flavour at the end, a few whips before ready.
- Keep it in an air tight container in the fridge for a few days!
What to do with homemade whipped cream?
Well, there are so many things you can do with it!
- On top of hot chocolate or coffee.

- Crepes, waffles, pancakes…

Ingredients
- 500 ml Whipping Cream
- 100 g Icing Sugar
- Flavour
Instructions
- In a large cold bowl, add the cold cream and sugar (read all the tricks to amke the perfect whipped cream above).
- Beat on high speed until soft peaks form.
- Add flavour at the very end and voila!
