How to bake a Giant Skillet Cookie on a Campfire
In order to bake the perfect campfire cookie, you’ll need to let your fire die down completely. This skillet cookie is baked on hot coals only. Open flame would be way to hot and the bottom of your cookie will burn.
Once, you fire is out, place a few rocks on the hot coals or a grill grate.
Place your cast iron skillet on top of the rocks (or grill grate).
Cover with the lid of your dutch oven or aluminium foil.
Place a few hot coals or hot rocks on the lid.
Let it bake! The cooking time will depend on the temperature of the coals but it can take anywhere between 20 minutes to 1 hour.
Enjoy warm, cold or with a scoop of camping ice cream!
Tip: As we all know raw cookie dough is delicious so it’s better to undercook a cookie than overcook it!
